Contour/Texture Composition Drawing

The picture Evie and Rick O' Connel from The Mummy. I used couple different textures I can find in my house. The background texture the cage from my fan, Evie's skirt is from the bottom of my converse and Rick's shotgun is a snakeskin texture from my hat. Some other textures are the rough concrete, engraved design on a ruler and aircon vents.

Digital Portrait/ secondary subject

The digital portait is Chance The Rapper..IGH! I started out by shading on the corners, the sides and work my way inner or center.I didnt start on the middle because I didnt want to keep counting to know the placement.  I shaded the darkest squares first. The portait is him with a cigarette on his mouth. The secondary subject is lyrics of his songs. The lyrics is relative the portrait about him being a chain smoker.

Self-portrait

This me drawing myself looking into a mirror. I kinda used the guidelines on drawing a face. I started on the head then the face and the neck and shoulders. I didnt use any dramatic lighting or shading.

Neutral Ground Still life with Crosshatching.

Neutral ground is when you shade the background with lead. Since the background is already shaded, I started with a kneaded eraser and start drawing with it. I start erasing lightly to draw the figure. I used chalk for the lightest areas and crosshatch for the dark ones.

5 Figure Gesture Drawings (including Neutral Ground)

This figure of a girl laying on the man's head. I started drawing the shape of the body with the eraser and once i got everything placed, I used chalk for the bright areas and crosshatch the dark areas.

Black Paper/White chalk “Lincoln

When drawing this, I started out light shades with the chalk all over the face. Then darken and create the shape of the hair and face. keep doing it till it looks good and right.

Keith Haring Drawing

What you see in my drawing is one black figure person, one white figure person, a peace sign, the world and a bunch of colorful figure people. The black figure is hugging the white figure and in between them is a peace sign. They are sitting on top of the world and below it, the colorful figures are jumping.  My drawing is about peace to racism. The black figure represents any dark skin race hugging and bringing peace with the white figure which represents all white skin races. They are on top of the world because they are bringing peace all over the world. The colorful figures are colored showing different ethnicity and they are together all jumping because they are celebrating peace within all race. I draw some of Keith Haring's own art figures.

Crosshatching “the Seated Boy

I started crosshatching on the hat and worked my way from the body to the legs and then the background. I crosshatch the darkest areas first so I know. Then I build up the lines and keep going till it looks right. Its like organized chaos creating the crosshatch. I curved lines on specific parts on the object to create that 3d effect and make it pop.

Pos/Neg "Don't draw the Bird"

I try to think of something unusual and different from what others are doing and I came up with this. The positive is the bird and egg/rock and the negative is an alien in a spaceship and its being sucked into a blackhole. The bird is the glass window on the spaceship. the grid helped me with the composition of the bird. When drawing this, I worked with the shapes and curves the bird had and think of something dope that fits in.

Contour Drawing "Upside Down Picasso"

The image being upside-down shifts our brain from left to right because our right brain focuses on the shapes and lines while the left focuses on the logic overall image. The grid helps a lot with the positioning and accuracy of the image. Don't worry about how everything looks at once and focus on each box grid. You'll get a more accurate picture.
